Men and women of all ages may benefit from laser resurfacing. Laser technique has been developed in the 90's to treat various problems on the skin surface.

Good candidates may include:

• finelines, especially around the eyes.
• vertical lines around the mouth.
• facial scars caused by acne
• areas of uneven pigmentation, such as "age spots"
• lines on the cheeks caused by sun damage.

Different lasers are used for different types of problems. For the effects of skin aging, that is, wrinkling around the eyes, upper lip and cheeks, the CO2 laser works quite well. This does cause swelling and a raw surface that needs to heal over about a week's time. Redness may also occur in the area for six to eight weeks, on average.

This technique definitely improves the appearance of aged skins by making the skin smoother and wrinkling much less noticeable.
