| C | osmetic surgery of the eyelids, called blepharoplasty, usually gives an improvement that last longer then a facelift and uncommonly requires secondary touchups later on. The aim of the operation is to make the area around the eyes appears less fatigued and worn-out looking. The operation entails removal of either skin or fat (causing bulging or "bags") or a combination of the two. | |

| This procedure is done under local anesthesia and intravenous sedation and usually takes anywhere from half an hour to an hour and a half depending on the combination of procedures done. The patient is usually socially presentable in ten days to two weeks and, in fact, with make-up could usually be back to normal activities within a week postoperatively. | ||
